It's all about planning your film now. You need to have the following bases covered by the time we return
1 Locations and Actors- with images if possible
2 Character Descriptions (25 words on each character)
3 Costumes
4 Props
5 Sketched Storyboard- I will give you some sheets for this. It is crucial that you do this as it will
ensure that you think visually about every moment of your film
6 Screenplay- you need to start thinking about what characters will actually say. (if you are using
dialogue) This does not need to be totally finished, but I want to see a start. Use this downloadable
template and also have a look at this example from QT
Please make sure that all your work is cut and pasted from this doc into a new doc that is just your own. Call it 'My Film' and share it with me.
Good Luck!
PS- nice Pulp Fiction analysis here.
For Mr Williams' Film and Media Students. Hints and tips, prep details, key dates, links to other useful places, the odd review, maybe a joke or two.

A2 Media- Holiday Work
1 create a google document called CI
2 complete the first 1000 words of your CI essay
3 this needs to be completed by the first lesson back after the summer
You will not be able to complete this task without doing plenty of research in advance. Have a look at Hannah Tutt's essay to get a feel for the standard you need to be reaching. Ava Braddock's is also another good example
It is absolutely imperative that you complete this task. Failure to do so will signify your disinterest in continuing Media at A2 Level.
It does not have to be perfect. You are only just starting this project and it does not need to completed until Christmas. You do however, need to demonstrate that you are committed to the process and have made a good start.

This link should give you plenty of extra material. There is tonnes of fascinating material here that we just hadn't had time to cover in lessons.
In addition to this, you also need to fully revise all the material we have covered on the emotional cinema unit. ET, Psycho, Breaking the Waves, Life is Beautiful, Pan's Labyrinth.
Look at..
All paper handouts
All the material on Drive
All the material on this blog (Breaking the waves for example)
You should be aiming for at least 2 hours revision on each film, plus 8 hours working on the two Vertigo essays. This amounts to about 18 hours of work. Good Luck!!

Key Quotes from The Virtual Revolution
Key Statisitics from the Virtual Revolution
Key Examples from the Virtual Revolution, Shirky, Google Glass, Wikileaks, Postmodernism, Enzensberger, Baghdad Sniper, Guardian Feature on New Media.
Your Two Case Studies on New Media

Once you feel confident enough. please complete at least four of the new media questions from this list on the AQA website.
Write by hand unless you have permission to type in the exam
Take extra time if you are permitted it
Allow one hour to write your response.
Make sure you fully go through the relevant mark schemes and examiner reports before attempting the question. These are crucial for helping you to understand what you are expected to actually write.
DOING THE ACTUAL QUESTION SHOULD BE THE VERY LAST PART OF A LONG AND DETAILED PROCESS!! BEFORE WRITING THE EXAM YOU MUST RESEARCH AND PLAN IN DETAIL. ONLY ATTEMPT THESE QUESTIONS WHEN YOU HAVE COMPREHENSIVELY PREPARED. THIS MEANS HOURS OF PREPARATION, NOT MINUTES!!!!
It would be a good idea to use mediaedu as part of your prep work for these essays.
This is a tremendous revision website too.
All essays handed in to me first lesson back in April. NO EXCUSES!
Good Luck.

Please print and read this case study in detail. Make sure you highlight key terms and other elements that you consider to be useful or interesting.
I would advise spending about 60 minutes at least on this task. It is a very strong case study and will help you to understand where the gaps are in your own case study.
