AS Media Students- Revision sessions in Mr Hickman's lessons

1 You need to thoroughly revise everything we have covered in class last term. Look at the following in detail.

Man with a Movie Camera
United 93
Bowling for Columbine
The Family (TV and Web)
I'm a Celebrity (TV, Web and Print)
Zeitgeist
Flickr
G20 Protests and Police Brutality.

Here are two typical questions.

"Explore the ways target audiences consume and respond to media products across different platforms".

"Consider the role of new technology in your case-study. How has it enhanced audience engagement and activity?"

For each of these questions, you must refer closely to your case study, which is documentary. So you need to link the documentaries we have studied to the two exam questions.

2 Work on your evaluations. The sessions we have done on Shifty are designed to help you with this.

AS Media Studies- Easter Holiday Work

Please thoroughly revise all the material we have studied on Documentary this term.
Once you are confident, please answer this question under strict exam conditions.

"Explore the ways target audiences consume and respond to media products across different platforms".

You must answer this question with close reference to the documentaries we have studied. Note that the question is asking you to consider consumption and response across different platforms.

For this question, the following documentary texts would be very useful.
Bowling for Columbine
The Family (TV and Web)
I'm a Celebrity (TV, Web and Print)
Zeitgeist
Flickr

make close reference to how these texts are consumed and responded to across different platfroms.

allow 45 minutes to complete the question

You also need to complete the first draft of your 2000 word evaluation. see the blogpost from 9th march labelled 'final coursework task' for the helpsheet.

Good Luck.
