A2 Media- Easter Holiday Work

A2 Media- Easter Work

It's all about preparing yourselves for exam now. This means getting to a point where you 'know it on paper' rather than just knowing it in your head. The only way to get to this level is consistent revision and exam practice.

So.... You need to thoroughly revise all the material on the impact of new media unit . Concentrate on learning the following.

Key Quotes from The Virtual Revolution
Key Statisitics from the Virtual Revolution
Key Examples from the Virtual Revolution, Shirky, Google Glass, Wikileaks, Postmodernism, Enzensberger, Baghdad Sniper, Guardian Feature on New Media.
Your Two Case Studies on New Media
All the material on Drive including exemplar plans and essays

Once you feel confident enough. please complete at least four of the new media questions from this list on the AQA website.

Write by hand unless you have permission to type in the exam
Take extra time if you are permitted it
Allow one hour to write your response.

Make sure you fully go through the relevant mark schemes and examiner reports before attempting the question. These are crucial for helping you to understand what you are expected to actually write.

DOING THE ACTUAL QUESTION SHOULD BE THE VERY LAST PART OF A LONG AND DETAILED PROCESS!! BEFORE WRITING THE EXAM YOU MUST RESEARCH AND PLAN IN DETAIL. ONLY ATTEMPT THESE QUESTIONS WHEN YOU HAVE COMPREHENSIVELY PREPARED. THIS MEANS HOURS OF PREPARATION, NOT MINUTES!!!!

It would be a good idea to use mediaedu as part of your prep work for these essays.
This is a tremendous revision website too.

All essays handed in to me first lesson back in April. NO EXCUSES!

Good Luck.
